题目:作物广谱抗病的免疫调控机制与育种应用

主讲人简介

何祖华,中国科学院分子植物科学卓越创新中心,研究员,中国科学院院士。1979年至1986年在原浙江农业大学农学系攻读学士和硕士学位。1996年获原浙江农业大学植物病理学博士学位,1997年至2000年分别在美国加州Salk研究所、加州大学Davis分校从事博士后研究。2001年12月起任中国科学院上海生命科学研究院植物生理生态研究所研究员,主要从事植物抗病信号转导与水稻功能基因组学研究,在国际上较早提出抗病与产量协调的研究理念,系统挖掘广谱抗病基因,剖析抗病-产量、抗病-高温逆境等交互作用机制,在水稻免疫调控和抗病育种的理论与技术等方面取得重大突破,为作物抗病分子设计育种奠定基础。研究成果获得“2017中国生命科学十大进展”,被隆平高科、荃银高科等40多家育种单位应用并审定多个品种,取得了显著的经济与社会效益。以通讯作者在国际著名期刊Cell, NatureScience以及子刊Nature GeneticsNature Biotechnology 等发表论文多篇。先后获得国家自然科学奖二等奖、全国优秀科技工作者、“庆祝中华人民共和国成立70周年”纪念章、第二届全国创新争先奖等。

Brief Introduction of Professor Zuhua He

Professor Zuhua He received his bachelor's and master's degrees at the Department of Agronomy of the former Zhejiang Agricultural University from 1979 to 1986. In 1996, he obtained a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the former Zhejiang Agricultural University. From 1997 to 2000, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Salk Institute in California and the University of California, Davis. Since December 2001, he has served as a PI (Principal Investigator) at the Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, focus on plant immune signal transduction and functional genomics of rice.

He was one of the first internationally to propose the concept of coordinating disease resistance and yield, to systematically identify broad-spectrum disease resistance genes, and to investigate the interaction mechanisms between disease resistance and yield, as well as between disease resistance and high temperature stress. His research has led to major breakthroughs in the theoretical and technological aspects of rice immune control and disease resistance breeding. His research achievements were selected as one of the " China's top 10 advances in life sciences in 2017" and have been applied by over 40 breeding company and units, including Longping High-Tech and Quanyin High-Tech, leading to several new varieties and bringing significant economic and social benefits. As a corresponding author, he has published numerous papers in prestigious international journals such as Cell, Nature, Science, and their sub-journals including Nature Genetics and Nature Biotechnology. He has been awarded several prizes, including the second prize of the National Natural Science Award, the National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker, and the second National Innovation Award.
